State reports five COVID-related deaths in Collin County today, Friday

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Friday reported 13,012 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 126 additional deaths. All counts, except for hospitalized cases, are compiled from the TDSHS website.

Meanwhile, in Sheboygan County, the Division of Public Health reported 181 new cases yesterday, alongside 145 new recoveries, while 238 tests came back negative, and no new deaths were reported.

192 patients are now hospitalized for COVID-19 in the Northeast Region of Hospitals, which is up by 4, however, the percentage of ICU beds in use did go down 1% to 85%.

The state is also reporting 2,127 active cases and a total of 20,242 have recovered in Collin County.

There are 107 active infections in the territory, which just confirmed its first case a little more than two weeks ago. Minutes later, the Fed issued a statement urging that "the full suite" of measures be maintained into 2021.

The Effingham County Health Department received notice of fifty-eight new positive test results and announced that the death of a woman in her 60s was under investigation.

Ravalli County Public Health Director Tiffany Webber said in the latest update that the county is seeing community spread of COVID-19 and that "public health resources are overwhelmed", due to the number of cases being seen.
