Alpine F1 released on Thursday renderings of a 2020 F1 challenger draped in its winter colours as well as the chosen nomenclature of its 2021 auto.

The rebranded Alpine Formula 1 team has revealed a "temporary winter livery" as part of Renault Groupe's plans for what it has described as a "Renaulution".

'The design of the Renault 5 Prototype is based on the R5, a cult model of our heritage, ' said Vidal, Renault's new design director. The "oversized" Alpine emblem in a tricolour graphics system is the first clear-cut symbol of the brand's identity in motorsport.

Alongside new plans to make Alpine an EV-only brand, Renault also unveiled this retro-modern electric concept you see here - and it's an arresting blend of the old and new.

Rossi confirmed that the Alpine team will reveal the livery that will cover its newly-named A521 auto in February ahead of the upcoming 2021 F1 season.

Renault have raced in yellow since returning to the F1 grid in 2016, and the black colour of the interim AF21 livery is a tribute to the A500 F1 prototype from 1975. "Numerous variations on all the motorsport assets are still to come".

While there has been no official announcement, executive director Marcin Budkowski has been tipped to takeover from as team principal from Abiteboul, meanwhile expected incoming Davide Brivio is also set to take on a senior position within the Alpine organisation.
