Amazon says that India is one of the fastest growing regions anywhere in the world and have high engagement rates. Buoyed by this response, we want to double-down by offering our much-loved entertainment content to an even larger base of Indian customers. "Smartphones powered by pre-paid connections and affordable data are ubiquitous to a large base of Indian customers - Mobile Edition will make Prime Video synonymous to quality entertainment for this large customer group", Batra said in a statement.

The Indian market is a highly competitive space for most global streaming services, thanks to a boatload of domestic alternatives that offer similar products at a mere fraction of the price.

As the name suggests, the Mobile Edition subscription will offer access to Amazon's streaming platform only on mobile to users in India.

These recharges will be available on Airtel Thanks app.

This is a beneficial plan for Airtel users who pay for their Amazon Prime Membership on a monthly basis.

Shashwat Sharma, Chief Marketing Officer, Bharti Airtel said, "At Airtel, we are deeply passionate about delivering a differentiated experience to our customers through our Airtel Thanks program". It will also offer mobile data of 2GB per day.
