The film is still well-loved decades after its release, but one tiny cameo is still causing controversy from fans.

Trump was previously cut out of "Home Alone 2" by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation during a Christmas Day broadcast in 2019. Though the former reality TV star is by no means a real part of the cast, he does have a memorable cameo. Macaulay runs into Trump at the Plaza Hotel in NYC and asks him for directions to the lobby.

In light of recent events, particularly MAGA cult members' violence at the Capitol, fans of the franchise have boosted calls for the cameo in question to be removed.

One fan of the movie tweeted, "Petition to digitally replace trump in "home alone 2" with 40-year-old macaulay culkin". They took it upon themselves to make the edit. albeit in amateur fashion.

Another fan actually edited out Trump from his scene with Culkin and shared it on Twitter. IF they wrote him into the movie.

At the start of the congress, the first in five years, he had admitted that the last plan proved a failure. In a time of both misinformation and too much information, quality journalism is more crucial than ever.

Late a year ago, director Chris Columbus revealed to Insider that Trump-a failed steak salesman perhaps best known for being impeached twice-had (unsurprisingly) bullied his way into a cameo in the 1992 family comedy.

If you didn't know, Trump purchased the Plaza Hotel in 1988 before selling it in 1995. A hotel which the then-future president owned at the time. "We couldn't rebuild The Plaza on a soundstage". However, he also added another caveat for Columbus as well.

"We paid the fee, but he also said, 'The only way you can use the Plaza is if I'm in the movie, '" Columbus, 62, told Insider.

If Trump were a Democrat, this Home Alone 2 scene would be beloved today just as the way it clearly was by audiences in 1992. However, the director was more than happy to scrap the scene after it was shot.
