The Oregon Health Authority announced in a series of tweets Friday that while overall cases of the novel coronavirus are decreasing in the state, the virus still "remains a threat", especially with more contagious variants looming.

"We are working with our local and federal public health partners to investigate and determine case origin".

The Oregon Health Authority also said as more communities open activities, they "anticipate that cases are likely to increase".

A batch of 600 of these useless vaccines was sent to Hong Kong last November, before they were shipped out of China. "In those cases, even though the participants got COVID, the vaccines reduced the severity of illness", they added.

The agency said that based on what was learned in clinical trials, they strongly believe that the vaccine will prevent serious complications if you do contract the virus.

More than 14 million Britons have received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine so far, and uptake stands at around 90 per cent.

Britain, which has recorded more than 120,000 deaths from COVID-19, was the first Western country to begin mass vaccinations in December, seeing the shots as a route out of strict lockdowns which have caused the biggest crash in economic output in more than 300 years.

Vaccinated individuals are also still urged by the CDC to follow the established safety measures even after receiving the second dose of the vaccine, including wearing face masks, observing social distancing and avoiding large crowds in general. It is not fully understood if those fully vaccinated can be asymptomatic spreaders of the coronavirus.

The government now intends to offer a first dose of the vaccine to all over-50s by the end of April, followed by a more modest target of reaching all adults in the United Kingdom by the autumn.
