Cuomo said Kim's disagreements over nursing home policies is really about an old feud over a bill to regulate nail salons.

"The probe by the USA attorney's office in the Eastern District of NY is apparently in its early stages and is focusing on the work of some of the senior members of the governor's task force", the paper noted, citing one source familiar with the matter.

"There's been a long, hostile relationship with Assemblyman Kim", Cuomo said. "No excuses: I accept responsibility for that", he said at a news conference.

As other CNN anchors have increased their coverage of the Cuomo scandal in recent weeks, Chris Cuomo has been spending much of his time lecturing GOP lawmakers on morality following their overwhelming support to acquit former President Trump in last week's Senate impeachment trial.

The letter, sent to Assembly members Tuesday, said Cuomo's administration "deliberately covered up" the extent of deaths in nursing homes and "engaged in an intentional obstruction of justice". "It nearly felt like, in retrospect, he was trying to bait me and anger me and say something inappropriate".

After being hailed as a hero in the early days of the pandemic, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is now facing an investigation by federal prosecutors and an attempt by his fellow Democrat state lawmakers to strip him of his emergency powers. "He attacked me", Cuomo said.

The DOJ gave Cuomo's administration 14 days to share data on nursing home deaths on August 26.

7 Eyewitness News has reached out to Gov. Cuomo's Office for comment, who released the following statement. "They have blood on their hands", Kim told CNN.

"Kim's assertion that the governor said he would "destroy him" is false", Rich Azzopardi told CNN.

Kim said Wednesday the governor is now trying to distract the public from growing criticism from Democrats and Republicans alike about his administration's handling and reporting of outbreaks.

Urban Air Aventure Park in Lake Grove just last week joined dozens of family entertainment centers across NY in filing a lawsuit to allow them to reopen.

The unit, created last March, initially consisted of 13 members, including state health Commissioner Howard Zucker and Secretary to the Governor Melissa DeRosa. "COVID got into the nursing homes by staff walking into the nursing homes when we didn't even know we had COVID".

"We certainly see the need for a quick response but also want to move toward a system of increased oversight, and review", she said.
