The highest number of new cases in the past seven days was in the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon council area with 405, with 371 in Belfast and 310 in Mid Ulster.

It comes after new figures showed Coronavirus case rates have fallen across almost 95% of local authorities in the UK. The rate is expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 people.

Nationally, 33 more deaths from Covid-19 have been reported, two of these taking place in January, the remainder this month.

Since the start of the pandemic there have been 89 deaths related to COVID-19 in Galway up to last Friday, February 12, fewer than ten other counties.

Among the confirmed positive cases, two are under the age of 20, one is between 20 and 39, two are in their 40s, one is in their 50s, and one person is in their 70s.

The National Public Health Emergency Team (Nphet) said that of the cases notified today: 373 are male and 366 are female, 68 per cent are under 45 years of age and the median age is 31 years old.

Across B.C., 1,533 cases of COVID-19 were reported over the same period, while 26 people died of the disease.

There are now 474 people with Covid-19 being treated in hospitals across Northern Ireland - 55 of them in intensive care and 45 on ventilators. There have been 51 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

NPHET have confirmed that 268,551 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland as of Saturday.

They said 176,926 people have received their first dose, while 91,625 people have received their second dose.
