Police in Frederick, Maryland say there are now two victims and one suspect is down in an active shooter situation.

We are on scene of an active shooter in the 8400 block of Progress Drive.

Lando said he didn't know why the suspect opened fire at the business or subsequently went to Fort Detrick. "There are two victims with status unknown". While Navy sailors were involved in the incident, the suspect was killed at the Fort Detrick Army base.

The two people who were shot had "life-threatening" injuries, Allen Etzler, spokesman for the Police Department, said, as quoted by the New York Times.

Police confronted the suspect at Fort Detrick, a military base located nearby, according to local affiliate FOX 5 in Washington, D.C. Additional details were not immediately available.

Mr Lando said: "We have two different scenes". The victims were flown by helicopter to Baltimore and are in critical condition, Lando said.

"The public is no longer at risk, everyone is safe".

"Our team was able to assist them and called the authorities", a statement released by Jeremy Mutschler, director of marketing and advertising at Nicolock, reads.
