As per the Health Ministry's June 4 data, the Central government provided total of 7.4 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses to hospitals across the country in May, of which 1.85 crore doses were earmarked for private hospitals.

Our World in Data, a site that tracks COVID-19 indicators, pegs Canada as first in the world when it comes to the percentage of a country's population that's received one dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Private hospitals purchased 1.29 doses of the vaccine available, but government data shows that only 22 lakh doses were used.

The total number of coronavirus vaccine doses administered in the country has reached 26,17,40,273, as per a provisional report compiled today at 7 pm.

"At some point, the government has to decide whether being vaccinated is meaningful and whether it is prepared to adjust government regulations that affect people's mobility based on whether or not they have been vaccinated", Beatty says.

Tim Taylor said he heard sirens at 8 a.m., adding there have been many officers in the community ever since. Anyone who wants to send condolences to the wife, family, friends and colleagues of Const.

However, experts say that the price of vaccination in private hospitals is high, so people are moving to government hospitals and that is why such a large number of vaccines are available in private hospitals. This includes taxes as well as a 150-rupee service charge for the hospitals. Private hospitals will continue to buy the remaining 25 per cent and vaccinate those who are willing to pay.

The earlier vaccine policy announced in May has been much criticised because of the differential pricing.

Trudeau's overnight stay in a hotel came after his Liberal government had spent months defending the policy of forcing most Canadians returning from worldwide travel to quarantine in a hotel room for up to three days at their own expense.

Some states including Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal have administered over 10 lakh beneficiaries in the 18-44 age group for the first dose of coronavirus vaccine.
