A TEENAGER who appeared as an extra in war epic Dunkirk is being quizzed on suspicion of murdering missing Gaia Pope.
Nathan Elsey, 19, was last night arrested alongside pensioner Rosemary Dinch, 71, who has since been released under investigation.
Neighbours say Gaia had been temporarily staying at Mrs Dinch’s house in nearby Swanage when she vanished without a trace.
In a TV interview before her arrest, the 71-year-old told the BBC how a distressed Gaia banged on her front door asking for help the day she disappeared.
She said: “She looked upset. Very upset. I am just so pleased because I gave her a cuddle and then she responded.
“Of course I want to find her and I have no idea where she is. She just seems to have disappeared.”
Her grandson Nathan remains in custody assisting police with enquiries, while Gaia’s family described her disappearance as a “waking nightmare”.
His arrest comes just months after he appeared as an extra in Christopher Nolan’s film Dunkirk.
On his casting website, the aspiring actor said the role as a World War II soldier gave him “more determination than ever to fulfil my dream of becoming an actor”.
